the Prince

The Prince is one of the party members in my theoretical Paper Mario×B3313 fangame.

Appearance

The Prince currently is a golden Bob-omb with brownish-green shoes, a grey crown, and an eternally-burning green flame at the end of his wick. He has green eyes and light yellow W-shaped blush marks.

He has four associated keys that can slot into the keyhole on his back: a yellow hexagonal key, a blue circular key, a green heart-shaped key, and a red rectangular-shaped key. These actually correspond to his current status - active, incapacitated, linked into the Eternal Kingdom's mind, and in danger of corrupting - and swap on their own when nobody is looking.

Past iterations of the Prince take the form of other species - too many to count - with the same palette and shape/color-coded accessories.

Personality

The Prince, in all iterations, is friendly and naive. His main goal is to make sure the Eternal Kingdom is not in danger, and the personality each iteration develops is shaped by his interactions with those around him.

His current iteration seems a bit unsure of himself due to the fact that he knows exactly why he exists: the past iterations of the Prince have all gotten too curious, became too chaotic, and were sent to the depths of the Eternal Kingdom. He wants to follow in their footsteps and learn more about the world outside his Kingdom, but at the same time, he does not want to be locked away.

Lore

The Prince is a piece of the Eternal Kingdom that exists to act as a leader for its inhabitants.

He is not the first of his role to exist. Past iterations of the Prince have become 'corrupted' by learning over time and being influenced by those summoned to the Eternal Kingdom, leading to the Kingdom itself possibly being in danger if this loss of order were to spread to the rest of its orderly parts. In response, the Kingdom rearranges itself and banishes the newly-corrupted Prince to the deeper parts of the Kingdom, stripping the iteration of its physical identity and locking it away. It then creates a new Prince to re-start the cycle.

These corrupted Princes wander the depths in search of freedom or forgiveness. After some time they are reabsorbed into the chaotic ever-shifting part of the Eternal Kingdom, though some persist even after their time should be up if they have enough will to remain.

Trivia

• The Prince does not retain information between iterations; the current Prince learned of his corruption cycle from the people his last iteration summoned to the Eternal Kingdom.
• An earlier nickname for the Prince before all his lore was written down was 'Yellow Ralsei'.
